Hi All, A customer who is also a F1 fan wants a few A3 posters framed for his man cave. Ideally he wants a flat profile no wider than 25mm the style of the moulding to resemble black carbon fibre… Any help sourcing such a moulding (if it exists!) greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I’m not aware of one but you could easily make your own, Google “carbon fibre wrap”.
Then a metallic grey mount and a deep bevel wrapped in the same stuff would look the biz!

Exactly..
You can buy self adhesive 25mm wide carbon fibre tape and stick it down onto some flat moulding.

I've been wrapping ‘carbon’ frames for a long time. Get a vinyl that is intended for external use on cars, it’s generally guaranteed for 5 years. I have pieces I did over 10 years ago and they still look new. There are different finishes, I go for a matt 3D textured pattern. A tip when cutting the vinyl cut the short sides at 90 degrees to the long sides so the weave pattern is in the same direction. I also wrap each length before joining, folding the vinyl over the end of the moulding, this gives a cleaner more stable join. This does mean a weaker frame joint so I brace it with a 90 degree metal corner plate. If you want a really thin frame you can use an aluminium frame which takes the wrap well, otherwise anything with a smooth finish.

This shows the 4 lengths wrapped before joining. This one is a grey 'carbon'. It also shows the different directions of the weave pattern.
