I have been asked to mount and frame a book written and signed by Pele but the customer wants to be able to :
a open the frame and be avble to show friends the book,
b be able to see the inside of the front cover whilst the book is in the frame.

The book is approximately A5 size and just under an inch thick.

Has anyone mastered this kind of mount if so how do I approach it?

Thanks,

Dave

2 things.

Have a front moulding set up as a cabinet door..... with small hinges and (latched)secured with small rare earth magnets.

Attach the book into a recess with strips of polyester film (Mylar® or Melinex®) --- strap the cover sheet back and nothing over the book cover.

A book by Jim Miller MCPF called "Shadowboxes and Framing Objects" (may not be the exact title) has great info on how to frame objects such as books. Also some great methods of making a frame "openable"!

Thanks Guys,

I'll research both solutions.

Kind regards,
