A client brought in a canvas for stretching but it has a tear in the corner (wasn't me, honest guv!) and I don't want to put it under tension for fear of making it worse.

I don't suppose anyone can recommend a canvas conservator in the Brighton/East Sussex area, or has any other advice?

Is it of any value if not dry mount it

Have a look at the ICON website. They have a directory of conservators.
