Just been doing a bit of clearing up and found this tucked under a bench.
I had forgotten that I had it!
A long time ago when I brought my Morso it came in a job lot. There was the Morso, a bench end guillotine and this under pinner.
Its was old then!
(I just clamped it on to the work bench to take the photos)



It has a bike brake cable sort of affair between the foot pedal and the head. I seem to remember that it was ok with very soft wood but anything harder and the cable stretched and would not push the wedge right in. I did not use it much only just to see if it was any good.

Looks a lot more hi-tech than my current tackle.

My cousin is an Archeologist. I think she dug one of these up last year while working on a dig at a medieval blacksmithing site. I believe it was a slightly later model than this one. Hang onto it - bound to be going up in value by now

I can’t see the knibling pin and I’m guessing the phoofey valve is somewhat corroded.

Try putting your index finger in that little grove and pressing the foot pedal. Depending on your level of heresy or state of Grace, you may either command or renounce the devil.
