Framer Wanted Full Time, Twickenham

Post by FramesofTwickenham »

Hi there,

We are currently seeking a full-time framer to join our team in Twickenham.

We're a busy independent framing shop in Twickenham, making bespoke frames for a loyal base of private and trade customers. We're looking for an experienced picture framer to join our small team four days a week.

The role
This is a complete framing role, from the first conversation at the counter to the finished frame going out of the door. You'll help customers choose mouldings and mounts, price and write up orders, then make the work yourself to a high standard.

Day to day you'll be:

Serving customers in the shop, advising on moulding, mount and glazing choices and taking orders accurately
Cutting and joining frames using a Morso chopper and underpinner
Cutting mounts on a manual mount cutter, including multi-aperture work
Cutting glass and acrylic
Hinging and mounting artwork to conservation standards
Stretching canvases
Making picture and mirror frames
Checking quality, then finishing and packing work carefully for collection
Keeping the workshop tidy and helping with any other tasks as needed
What we're looking for

At least 4 years' hands-on experience as a picture framer (essential)
Experience of dealing with customers in a retail setting (preferable but not essential)
Confident with the Morso chopper, manual mount cutter and glass cutting

Careful, methodical and accurate, with a sharp eye for detail
Good with numbers: measuring, frame calculations and pricing

Friendly and helpful with customers, and happy working as part of a small team
Able to use your initiative and sort out problems as they come up
Hours
5 days a week

Salary dependent on experience.

To discuss this role, please email joe@jjframes.com

Many Thanks
Joe
