I've been asked to mount a high tec picture that is mounted onto a piece of carbon fibre.
The customer wants a high tec/ industrial look that is 'classy', I'm toying with either mounting it onto plexiglass with a 25mm overlap and mounting that over a brushed aluminium sheet, or making a frame from plain flat moulding and trying out self adhesive carbon fibre sheet to cover the frame.
Has anyone elso done anything like this before, or have any other ideas.
Cheers
Mark

Always best to post a photo or two when looking for design advice. But this sounds like it could look good in a frame within a frame - they don't have to be from the same family either.
The backing between the inner & outer frames can be anything you like. Also a great opportunity to upsell to museum glass - which this piece had.
