Coverings for chevron display boards

I'm re-vamping my moulding chevron display boards and I want to do something with a little extra class. The mouldings will in future hang on the metal strips and spring pegs from Lion. I'm done with Velcro and want them all displayed neatly in line and while I'm at it, I'm going for bigger chevrons too!

Although I already have in stock both the cream and black brushed loop nylon display cloth and some green felt, I wanted to do something a little more exciting, possibly crushed velvet or some similar. I'm also looking for ideas of the best colour to show off my moulding samples. Any recommendations please.
Thanks in anticipation,
Mark.

Our Carousells have carpet on.
We found the brushed nylon/velvet are real pain after about 4 months of use. Looked very untidy.

Lots of good quality offcut carpets out there. check it out

and take some velcro with you - it won't stick to pure wool - needs to have a high nylon content.

Hi John,

I'm not doing Velcro this time, but instead I'm using the punched metal strips and spring pegs from Lion. I'm counting on it being much neater as all the moulding will automatically hang exactly in line.

I'm still thinking about crushed velvet or something like that. I suppose that the obvious colour would be burgundy, but these display boards will be visible through the shop widows and I'm worried about the colour fading with the sunlight to something really grotty looking. There is a black crushed velvet, but I'm thinking that the crushed effect might not show all that well, especially through the window. Apart from that I think blues or greens would not be all that nice, so I'm still thinking about it. Maybe a nice neutral grey, if they do one?

How about a flock type wallpapere in a sandy colour. It would work well with your system and not be too expensive to change when it gets tired. I think neutral works best. Black looks tired very quickly as does darkm green and blue.

I'm getting some silver grey crushed velvet material. My thinking being that it is not likely to be prone to fading and will look both understated and classy. I'm also thinking about framing each board in a moulding from the Simons graphite range for a little extra style and impact.

Eventually I will loosely cover the display surface in my shop windows with the same fabric leaving plenty of random raised waves/folds and stand items for display in between the waves. Each time I change the window, I can take out the fabric and shake it clean.
