Hi There Everyone

Just trying to pick brains.
No easy way to put this, but my father has passed away, and wondered if anyone had any advice on drying some of the flowers from the bouquets.
The intention is to frame a couple (probably carnations...), and wondered if there needs to be any special techniques drying them (never tried before...), and in the framing to stop them discolouring or going brittle.

Framing the flowers is relativly easy - drying them - havnt got a clue but found this site with some good advice http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/plan ... yflrs.html

when dry, box frame them using wire to hold the flowers in place - I think florist use a green wire- use UV filter Glass to help stop the flowers fading. I know that some framers use silica gel within the frame to keep down moisture levels. I wouldnt regard brittleness as a problem once the flowers are wired in place. I have framed lots of very old and very brittle herbier pages and once in place they are pretty resilient to damage.
