Hi,
Nice Website you got.

One thing I dont like to see is trade prices being made available to and Tom, Dick, or Harry that happens to log onto that site.

I know that most of the other sites, you need an account to access pricing information, Lion and Arqadia and the first ones that happen to come to mind.
Then again maybe its just me getting old and outdated. Others here might have a different opinion.

Best of luck with your business.

Ditto the above. Also put in some measurements/values in the frame price calculator and see how it compares with your retail price! - John.

Hi John and Luke welcome to the forum.

It's great having a new local supplier but I agree that it's perhaps not such a good idea to let the public know what the trade prices are. They'll be trying to bargain our prices down and we don't want that do we?

I'm happy to have my customers know the cost of the raw materials in the frames they buy from me. I think they understand well enough that most of what they pay me is for my time and skills. Anyone who queries my prices gets told i make £15 an hour if I'm lucky, and then gets asked how much they make an hour. Shuts most of them up. I don't believe that hiding supplier's prices from punters is neccessary.

I dont have a problem with the prices on veiw, most peolpe on ther site would be framers anyway.
I have used frame-supplies my self and ther service is 2nd to none, and the prices are very competative for a next day no min order service.i was sick having to buy a box moulding that i didnt have the space for.im planing on calling down and having a look at ther trade counter this week.

I know some people in the trade get a might peeved at supplier selling moulding to J.Public at trade prices. Personally I don't mind too much. For a start, they still will have to buy a min quantity + carriage. And in practice what usually happens is they buy 40ft, try to make a frame and end up with a lot of firewood. :(
Then it dawns on them that it is much cheaper to go to a 'proper' framer.

If the customers only know the price I'm charging, and they're happy with that, I don't need to get into an argument with them over pricing or justify my hourly rate. If they want to buy it themselves and try to make their own frames I don't have a problem with that, especially if they end up with expensive firewood.

We all know how much a spud is and one good sized one = a bag of chips - and we all know how much a bag of chips is!

Welcome to the forum (BTW I can buy evo stick wood glue for £4:50 per 500ml - retail 8) so I'd not be too worried!)
