knock at the door

strange knock at the door this morning.
when i answered it there was nobody there, but someone had left a big lump of plastecine on the step.
I didn't know what to make of it.

Careful - it could be C4 or Semtex.

Are you sure it wasn’t moulding?

I think I've just ensured that MI6 will have to read the forum for about a month to see if we are a hot-bed of terrorists. (or 'tourists', as Dubya so endearingly pronounces it)
