cassese underpinner air escaping

Hello again People
Its been a while I know but please can you help!
I finally set up in a workshop. I purchased the essential Morso for the ultimate mitre, broken hundreds of square feet of glass, stopped making silly mistakes with the mount-board cutter and callibrated my under-pinner. I was ready to start production in earnest of a hundred art-prints I bought.
Then the bloody under-pinner packed up yesterday, within 3 frames. I put my foot on the peddle and the air just came out, and out and out. The air escapes from under the shuttle return valve inside the casing. I have manually pressed the valve back into its desired position this stops the air escaping, but the poxy thing will not return itself. V-nails will protrude but will not even scratch the moulding.
Is it a lubrication issue? Maybe I missed a spot?
Has anybody had something similar occur that they might have a sollution or ideas on this please?
Blimey I forgot to say its a Cassese 810. Old I know but it looks so simple to maintain...or so I thought whilst sitting in a wet-bed...
Anyhows gang, thanks for looking.
Peace and Respect
