New Approach Marketing

Post by Twin Peaks »

Just had a cold call from New Approach Marketing giving me all the speel about making my business more noticeable on Google, at a price of course. Now I know that the cost of advertising is relative, but as a small business one has to consider expenditure very carefully. No doubt there are forum members aware of this company and I would be interested to know their experience and of course whether it is considered money well spent or not.

I don't know New Approach Marketing but before spending anything with them or anyone else why not try a DIY solution? It's not as difficult as most people believe and all it would take is time. Ok, I know that is a scarce commodity for most people but if you do believe it makes sense for you, do a search on Google for SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). It's surprising how simple things will make a world of difference for your website.

Do you have a web site. If yes, do you sell from that web site. Or is your business framing to people in your local area? If the answer to first two questions is yes - then its worth making sure your web presence is good - and as stated earlier you can do it yourself - lots of people on this forum would happily advise. If the answer is yes to third question then - NO you would be wasting time money and effort - go with targeted local advertising.

A number of years ago when we first went 'live' with the ecommerce web site, we used an SEO company who basically promised page one on all the Web search engines. First Found was the company -their web site is quite impressive so was the sales blurb. They said they would optimise my site and continually visit, make changes and report monthly as well as submitting to ALL the search engines. All for a lump sum upfront and a monthly payment during the contract.

They made one change on month 1. At the end of month 6 I noticed no noticeable difference in my page rankings or position within the search engines for a given Key word.

What a rip off - Thank fully I was able to cancel after only 6 months with them.

I hit the web and utilised two FREE SEO packages. I am now getting consistent results on page 1 of search engines. Yes its takes time and results are not normally seen for 9 - 12 weeks, when its another little tweek and another 9-12 week wait.

With common sense and a few hours at the keyboard, doing SEO yourself can achieve the same results.
