home made Gummed tape wetter

Post by Cathy »

Heres a cheap & cheerful idea,
All of the gummed tape dispensers etc seemed to be rather expensive
so I went to a stationary shop & bought a envelope wetter with a roller over a small water tank,
its about 7" long 3" wide &1.5" deep. so easy to move & store out of the way
The roller was not very good so I took the lid off removed the roller & replaced it with a sponge put the lid back on & added warm water
Just cut tape to length hold one end put other hand on top of tape press gently down & draw tape through,
works perfectly every time just remember not to overfill & clean the sponge at the end of the day
The one i made has lasted about ten years & still going strong, at a cost of less than £4.00 very good value & no wasted tape:D .
