I've not used it myself, but a friend of mine swears by it for all manner of DIY tasks. (I don't believe it has an FATG conservation rating though! :giggle: )

Can I assume with the name of the product that it is sold to schools and convents?

Perhaps it should be limited to external applications, or perhaps I'm getting the wrong end of the stick.

I think that the fact that it says 'Trade only' on the tube is a sure sign that tradesmen don't use it - clearly its being marketted at DIYers who would like to think themselves to be in the know. Like when an airport contains the word 'international' in its name you know the only flights will be 18 seaters going to the channel islands, and there will be no duty free, and customs will be a portacabin, or a nissen hut, and even the local taxi drivers will say 'Oh! I never knew there was an airport here'.

That's a similar bit of spin to all those so-called "Wholesale" sheds where you have to have to join up and get a card. :P It gives the impression that you are in a select group and are getting goods very cheap. In actuallity you are paying though the nose for a load of carp. :? The stuff they sell is cheaper in a high-street outlet.

I think any product that uses a name like that is probably going to be just what it says it sticks like. Who would take it seriously?

It sounds like it is being marketed at 11 year old school boys. Just the jobby for all those Blue Peter projects.

SHITHOT WAXTIK
FOOLPROOF HARD WAX FINISH FOR WOODTURNERS

130mm x 25mm - Each
Pack of 5 A$14.30
A$60.50 A$13
A$55

ORDER FORM DATA SHEET
These hard sticks of wax are designed solely for the use of woodturners and are made from a special blend of animal, vegetable and mineral waxes including Carnauba (the hardest of all waxes) for a hard bright shine and durability, Ozocerite and Ceresin (high melt waxes) for extra hardness, shine and water resistance, Microcrystalline for added water resistance and durability, and just a hint of beeswax.

The Waxtik is applied directly to the work whilst it is spinning in the lathe, then with the lathe still running the wax is melted on to the work piece through friction. This is done by applying a clean soft rag to the work and moving it slowly across the face of the turned piece.

Use heavy pressure for a satin finish and light pressure for a more lustrous sheen. Second and subsequent coats may be applied if needed.

For a high shine apply a coat of shellac or spirit varnish to the turned piece then immediately apply the Waxtik as described above.

The Waxtik can be applied over our Shellawax and Shellawax Cream friction polishes, and also works extremely well over our EEE-Ultra Shine for a fully waxed finish. Can be used over most oil finishes that respond to a final buffing with hard wax including Organoil. and Danish oil. (Best used on oiled surfaces when the surface is completely dry and no more oil is sweating from the pores of the wood)

Shithot Waxtik is NON TOXIC and totally safe for use on all food implements, bowls, babies rattles etc. However being a wax it may show a dull or white spot if wet. This can be repaired by using our Traditional Wax.

FINISHING TIP
You will obtain a much better finish on your work if you sand finely. Start with around 180 grit then go though the grits to 600 girt. eg. 180, 220, 280, 320, 400. 500, 600. For an even more brilliant effect sand up to 1200 grit then use our EEE-Ultra Shine before using the Waxtik

Huon Pine, Oak and Elm, all respond brilliantly to being waxed with Waxtik with no other finish being applied.

Hahahaahaaaaaalol.

That brings back a memory of the neighbour across the street. One year when it was very snowy he lit a fire under the engine. :o It would have been funnier if I hadn't been parked next to him.
