I have a couple of posters with creases in. I've tried ironing out the creases with an iron on low temperature and a piece of paper between the iron and poster but it has had no effect. I think I might be being too cautious. Are there any recommended ways of getting creases out? Is it recommended to lightly spray it with distilled water?...or should I leave well alone? Thanks.

Don't spray with water!

Find someone local to you with a Hot Press.

There have been several threads on this over the years on this UK site and in the US. The crux of the situation is that the creases will never totally come out. Once the clay coated stock of a poster is creased, that is it. Mounting will reduce the visibility somewhat but not totally. If you look at antique posters mounted on linen you will see the creases even though they are flat.

Thanks for the advice. I'll leave them as they are. Don't know anyone with a hotpress locally and obviously an expensive piece of kit to buy. Just somehow thought ironing was supposed to be more successful than it proved to be for me.
