Last week I bought a very useful drill thingy called a "Screwsinker" from my local hardware shop.

It consists of a drill bit with a counterbore and countersink bit fixed onto it with an allen key type grub scew. It comes with it's own allen key, so you can adjust how it is postioned on the shaft of the drill.

They are made in various sizes to suit the size of woodscrews you are using. The drill diameter produces the correct diameter pilot hole for the screw, the counterbore section produces the correct diameter clearance hole for the screw and the countersink section produces the correct size countersink for the head of the screw.

I've already found this new thingy very useful for fitting a block mounted jig saw puzzle into a canvas tray type front loading frame. Just the thing for those producing custom construction framing jobs, etc.

Yes, that's it.

I've bought one for No: 6 screws and it cost £4.45p. I didn't think that was particularly cheap, but it certainly saved a lot of time and messing about.

Does your picture mean they are available as a set? If so, do you know what sizes are in the set?

I expect that they've been available for ages as I'd been aware of them before, but it was only last week that I had the chance to buy one. In situations where things are assembled by glueing and screwing, I think they save a lot of time and effort.
