Deep rebate inlay moulding for canvas

Post by Applewood »

Can anyone advise me where I can buy deep rebate (30mm) canvas inlay moulding from? It must be flat at the front and about 20mm.

Hello and welcome to the forum Applewood,

Do you mean a moulding used to float canvases?

If you are looking for a barewood frame then Rose and Hollis do one in obeche that has a flat face 22mm wide, with inner depth of 34mm (canvas depth) and an outside depth of 47mm. Its number A257. They also do one the same width with a canvas depth of 27mm which you could pack out with 3mm mountboard if necessary, its number A255.
