Hello. I am another one of those pro/am framers seeking info! I've just purchased a foot operated lever advanced mitre guillotine from an auction and would like some assistance to suss it out. In principle it's exactly the same as a Morso F but it's square in body, painted Hammerite green/blue and is pre metyric as the scales are marked out in inches. The only markings on it are a sticer with 'Magnolia Machinery. Made in England'. It's proving to be a pig to set up and get to cut true. Even after a strip down etc. Any clues as to it's orogins for a start? Many thanks, Duncan.

It's called a Magnolia Mitremaster, not many were made.

Try Peter Stanlick at Framers Equipment, Northampton. I have a feeling his father was involved with Magnolia.

I've got an original instruction manual for that model.
If you need a copy let me know and i will scan it and post it online for you, although it only consists of 4 pages.
The only parts still available for the Mitremaster are Blades and Blade Springs.

A copy of that manual would be fantastic Mr Thornton. Every little helps. No hurry though. It'd be handy to pick up the part numbers etc. My machine has been adapted to use Morso blades. As the manual is about 30 years old its a little bit faded but hopefully you will be able to make the text out and it was printed in landscape.

Ahoy. 1 manual downloaded and pritned! Top Job. Vintage look matches the vintage condition of the machine so all's well. Just managed to buy a Cassese CS830 from the same chap for £14 all in. Looking forward to giving that a go too. Many thanks for your efforts & time. Cheers!

A long time ago (possibly in a different galaxy) I used to work for Magnolia Mouldings(Sales) Ltd.
I remember the Magnolia Mitre master quite well as I used to sell them.
Never as popular as a morso – we sold it for some £50 less.
Although slightly notchy in travel moving forward and back , it was quite popular.
The cut quality was good and the machine extremely durable.
If my memory is correct, you could fit Morso Blades on it.
It sounds as though you have something of a bargain.
