I hasten add this is not my item, but thought someone might like a cheap glass cutter.

I bought the same model last year for peanuts, it was in worse condition though.
After re-riveting the triangular piece and fitting 3 new nylon bushes it's as good as new.

Here's a question about this model, besides the bit that takes the glass cutting wheel there is another removable piece that looks as if it takes a blade.
The removable part is rectangular steel section about 1/2" x 1/4" about 1 1/2" long , it also has a cutout for a securing and a 3 or 4mm screw for holding a blade.
But what blade fits it???

The other tool head / pillar post you're describing Jim takes a "Stanley" knife blade for cutting mountcard, foam board, Back 10, etc.

On the current 3100 model you also get a pillar post for MDF/hardboard/etc. which has dual wheels (cutting front and back at the same time) and 1 pillar post for cutting plastic.

Sorry guys I’ve lead you up the garden path regards the blade issue,
I should have gone out to the workshop and had another look at the head.

Far from being a separate pillar post /tool holder, the piece I’m referring to takes the glass cutting wheel 2780 at one end and at the other a blade of some type, but definitely not a Stanley utility blade.

I’ve had a look at the Lion catalogue under Fletcher F-T 3100 and it may be that M3000 blades may fit.

If there are any pre F-T 3100 members reading this perhaps you can confirm that the earlier ,model took M3000 blades or perhaps 2751 Plastic cutting blade.

Just a bit more info on my antique Fletcher.

I had mine machined by a company near Poole.
I was looking on Ebay for pieces of PTFE tubing that thinking I might be able to adapt for new bushes, to cut a long story, I emailed a guy selling off cuts and he landed up making them.
I believe now there was no need to have them tailor made because the latter version Fletcher 3100 uses the same diameter parallel rails.

This is the cutting head on my very old fletcher.

If this picture works will add another shortly for more detail re. missing blade.

Here's second picture, a bit small I know! righthand end glass cutting wheel, lefthand end shows screw that I guess holds a blade in place.above is hole where this pice fits.

The cutter sold on Ebay, did you buy it Dave, or anybody on the Forum?.

Anybody got any ideas about the cutting blade question now I've posted photo's. My thinking is that M-3000 blades will fit, with plastic cutting blade 05-711 the hole looks to far forward.
In Lion Cat. No's 900 and 2751.

The Fletcher Model No. is 7554 Serial No.03686.

The number onthe removable bost is P115-100

According to the Fletcher 7554 / 8400 instruction manual the codes for the blades are:
05-712 = Plastic cutting
05-711 = Mountboard cutting
02-120 = Steel Glass Scoring Wheel
03-126 = Carbibe Glass Scoring Wheel

You should have two Pillar Posts to mount the blades on
The plastic cutting blade and the glass scoring blade fit on the double ended Pillar Post, the mountboard blade screws onto your second Pillar Post

I have a Fletcher 7554 bought on e-bay as well, about 18 months ago, serial number 05448, very pleased with it and does all I want from it. Does anyone have a User Manual for the 7554 that they could email me as a PDF or similar. I have tried the Fletcher Terry web site but no luck.

I have exactly the same problem in Australia.

I found this elsewhere from John Raynes
"Speaking to good friend Rich at Fletcher-Terry, and I was confirmed on a couple of bits of information.

The 7554 was made from 1975 to 1984. It utilized a Pillar Post system in the cutting head similar to the 8400 series.

Fletcher still has the 8400 pillar posts that holds the glass wheel and the plexi blade. The mat cutting posts are gone.

No spare parts are available for the 7554."

It looks like we may have to make them.
