so, who watched it, and what do you think of the new Doctor?

i warmed to him pretty quick tonight actually, i thought he was going to be rubbish, what a pleasant surprise

I watched it with my 16 year old daughter.

Our verdict- not as good(looking) as David Tennant but ,like you said, not as bad as I was expecting.

I will be watching again so will reserve judgement until I've seen more episodes.

They are both better looking than the first Doctor I watched,John Pertwee

i think the sidekick has more mileage in this series, and could be a very strong character.

It pretty much traumatised me and even now the theme tune spooks me, plus every time I hear it I can smell kippers, because that's what we had for tea every Saturday!

I wasn't allowed to 'stay up' and watch stuff like 'Not only but also' (Peter Cook & Dudley Moore) or Monty Python, because they were 'stupid' but it was fine to watch this terrifying stuff that gave me nightmares about being turned in to a negative by a dustbin.

trust me to go off subject but - there was a small series called a for andromeda a few years ago about a signal from the andromeda galaxey and a beautiful girl was made ! look at this cast!!

Roboframer seems to have his own kipper scented time machine - great illustration of the ability that your memory has to leap back in time. I wasn't over impressed first time I watched it - Then saw a few bits when one of my kids watched it, and its growing on me. It was a little bit too much comedy for me - But then I think they have a big challenge to be as good as Torchwood - I am sure it will grow on me - and the trailers looked good.
We did have a family problem with the new doctor - he is the absolute double of a close family member and we kept seeing him as the character. He is a medical student with a good sense of the bizarre - bet he starts wearing tweed and a bow tie.

Landing my very own Picture Framing TARDIS ( made from the finest RAMIN ) at this thread, I have to say that the 11th Doctor put on a damned good show. My little girl likes Dr. Who & was very upset that " her Doctor ", TENNANT, was being replaced ( I felt like that when Tom Baker became Peter Davison ). It was a good start. Now that WHO is back on the box, another generation can be scared to death on a Saturday night !

Tom Baker was my Doctor. If you remember him you have to remember K-9 & some of his side kicks like Romana & Leila !!!! However, Dr. Who was not the one that frightend me, it was Saphire & Steel. Couldn't watch that, even though Joanna Lumley was in it.

Time board the TARDIS again. More chop service to delivery last week.

One thing I dislike about the latterday episodes. The Music. It's far too intrusive and overblown.
