Beyer and the Irish Question

Slug pellets.
After sprinkling some slug pellets around the himalayan fishtail palm, the olive trees and the banana plants (well, it is "subtropical" west cornwall, after all) I read the instructions.
Leaving aside the fact that I read the directions AFTER using the product (it's a bloke thing), WTF, thinks I, there are DIFFERENT safety instructions for the UK and Ireland.
We eedjust in the UK are advised not to eat these slug pellets, while our cousins over the sea are advise to get medical attention if they do eat them.
We are told to keep it away from our children and pets, whilst advice on this is completely lacking for our Irish friends. However they are advised the container "MUST be disposed of safely" whilst we are told it is completely recyclable.
In the UK they tell us not to put sluig pellets down drains, and wash exposed hands and skin (I was under the impression that ones hands were already covered with skin, but anyway...) and it's dangerous to UK pets. Its so dangerous to UK pets that we are advise not to put slug pellets in "heaps".
I know some people have a lot of time on their hands, but putting slug pellets into heaps?
Is there some casual racism going on here
