Anynone recommend a good memory card reader for use with Compact Flash cards?

I have just binned my third one in as many months. The prongs which engage in the holes in the card always get bent over and if you attempt to straighten them (very difficult) they snap off.

I have a load of photos to downlaod but cannot do it untill I buy another.

we use sandisk readers in the office and they have stood up to reading 50-60 cards a week for the last 5 years without getting damaged.

I dont know if you can get Delkin across the pond, but I have been useing them for years and have not had a problem, I also use a Lexar multi card reader, that has been good. Had a cheep one made in china and it was bad, got rid of it and stuck with those two at work home and on the road.

Johnny,
There is a possibility that it could be the operator, not the card reader? I've had one for about 8 years and it's just an El Cheapo generic version and haven't bent any pins yet.
Perhaps your technique is just a little out of whack?

I use a 'Rocketfish' RF-CRSwivel. Reads CF UDMA/SD/ and SDHC cards. The USB plug folds away, making it VERY compact. It's an excellent reader. Quite inexpensive too.

I have a SanDisk 12-in-1 card reader. It will actually read 13 or 14 different varieties of memory cards e.g. Micro SD (with an adapter supplied with Micro cards).

The only thing you have to be careful with are the Compact Flash I & II cards which have the teeny-tiny pin receptacles. The pins inside the SanDisk are fine and, if you don’t carefully insert the card absolutely straight on, you can bend them. But, even if louse up that one slot, the other three slots will work jes’ fine.

I have had mine for about three years and it cost ~$30 on line.

I bought an SD card reader in the local pound shop. It reads cards that my older, more expensive, readers can't.

My last one was a cheapo from Tescos as it is about the only shop I ever get to due to running a shop myself and yes I did let someone else use it (no names mentioned Mrs 2 Morsos) who was a bit ham fisted.

Photographer customers of mine also recommend Sandisk.

Thanks for your input guys.
