Ultimat Gold and underpinner wanted

Hello all,

This is my first post, as I am reasonably new to framing so please excuse my ignorance. I am looking for either a Keencut Ultimat Gold Mount cutter, preferably 48" but 40" will be ok. I am also looking for an underpinner, either a cassese or Minigraf.

I have just purchased a Morso, so I am upgrading currently from a Mitre Trimmer and Logan 750 mount cutter. I started out just framing paintings we buy from auction, but it developed into firstly doing a few frames for friends and then suddenly turned serious with lots of requests. I have quickly found that my equipment is dreadfully inadequate and through reading through posts on here, the Morso, Keencut or Fletcher mount cutter and a cassese or Alfa minigraf underpinner were the way forward.

If anyone is looking to sell any of these, please let me know. I can arrange shipping for any items through the couriers we use for our Antiques Business.

Thanks

Nick

Hi Nick,

Just been in the same boat as you, after a ultimat gold and cassese underpinner, struck lucky on ebay, 3yr old ultimat gold for£350 and cassese c89s and compressor for £450.

Best advice is to keep trawling the ads on ebay and you will strike lucky....

Good Luck
Rob

Hi Rob,

I think that we both had a bit of luck as I think I have purchased the Morso from the same chap. I was watching his items on ebay, but saw that you had done a deal earlier with the cassese so contacted him to get the Morso which I am picking up next week. I will continue the search for the others, as they come up.

I am not sure what you are upgrading from, but if you do have the time, it would be interesting to know how much of a difference they make. I went to have a demo on an Inmes machine yesterday and would ultimately like one of those, but at £1800, that will have to wait for a little while.

Many thanks

Nick

Hi Nick,

If it is the same chap, the morso is a tidy machine, and I think he also has a left hand extension as well.

Will let you know how I get on with the new underpinner, my old one is a manual charnwood which is fine and will hang onto it as a backup...

Best Regards
Rob

hi nick,

I have a euro/bucmatic underpinner for sale, its a great machine and has been faultless. very clean and working perfectly. It has full height stand, 3 heads and step pedal, the head takes 7-10mm wedges. You would have to purchase a compressor to run it.
I can send you through some pic's if you require (send your email address). The sale price is £350, I will be putting it up on ebay in the next few days, however i thought it may interest you.
Im based in falmouth, so it would take you 3 hours to get here.
regards stu
