Hi there.
I have a big order on the books, one that would be the equvilent of a months earnings. and after months of to-ing and fro-ing between the artist and the clients they chose a simons moulding, a laquered finish in a mid grey. Guess what? Its discontinued. Does anyone know if it is available anywhere else? or something similar? I use simons and Arqadia but I thought maybe another supplier may do it.

Good morning,
I will help you if I can. What colour, width etc is the profile. I'll see if we have something the same or similar. It's not quite clear enough to judge from your image.
Regards,
Phil Sheldon ( A & T ).

Thanks for the replies, I am hoping to match this one if possible.
its a wooden moulding with a shiny laquered finish. the colour is mid grey. width is approx 1" maybe a little more, I don't have a sample here or the internet at work. i will get the exact size and post again.
thanks for the links, other greys may be an option if i cannot match this, but since it took months for the clients to agree on a frame (its for a hospital) i gotta try.
cheers.

Is it still in the Simons catalogue? If so the moulding ref would be useful.

It is shown on this page - looks much darker than in your photo.

Is 0008 still available and if so would your customer settle for it?
PS - don't forget to ask for 20% on over 100 ft from Simons.

'fraid not - Simons website hasn't been updated since it was built in 2004!
I don't have my catalogue at home either - hope I've not built false hope, but I do know the white and the navy blue are still going, surely the black too, so you never know.

i should have known simons wouldn't have an online presence.
ah well thanks, yes i am thinking it might have to be black. they were so keen on grey i hope i don't loose the deal.

Check anyway - 0008 just may still be there - even if discontinued there may be stock.
I've looked at Arqadia's website but a search for 'lacquered' only brings up two mouldings, and I know there's loads more than that.
Simons have also brought out a new laquered range including a grey (I think) - I have samples I can photograph, but they have a raised silver edge and are £1:20 per foot, list.
You're other alternative of course, would be polished aluminium, but even if you're geared to cut it, it will be far more than 70p per ft.
