Hi all,

I am having a newbie poblem with my Morso...

When I set the rebate supports accordingly, they do not slide back as I move the cutting head in.

I've cleaned and greased the channel, but they seem to get caught against the sides as they are pushed against the moulding.

Anyone else get this? Is there a fix that I'm not seeing? It's as if they are able to rock/shift slightly and then they get stuck.

When I move the cutting head in, should I be moving to the left and then the right as this somethimes frees it up?

There is an add-on kit you can buy that holds the rebate supports at a constant distance from the fences. Got a picture somewhere.....hang on......

Newer Morsos have the fixing holes already drilled.

mine does this too sometimes. i always thought it was probably due to wear as the supports can wobble a bit side to side.

my morso which is less than 6 months old does it too

can't you just slide em out the way and then slide em back - have to do that on my hansen - in any case i always like to double check they are 'in' as far as poss.

I always find that some mouldings are worse than others.

Had this problem as well, found the answer in throughly cleaning the track part where the rebate supports slide and making sure that all the parts and track slot are FREE from crease or oil, spray lightly with silicone spray and you should then find they slide back easily.

When adjusting the height of the rebate supports screw them up to touching the underside of the rebate and then slacken quater of a turn down.

You should after this find that the rebate supports will slide back as you move the cutting head of the Morso in.

Try this (with the blades fastened down)

Put a finger at the lowest point of the rebate supports and push gently, they'll no doubt slide back easily.

Now put a finger at the very top of the rebate support and push, you'll find that the whole support tips back slightly due to slight play in the runners - and that's the problem, the back of the 'foot' of the support goes down and the front of it goes up - it's no longer flat in the channel. The higher the supports are, the less likely the supports will slide.

I can't remember if this play can be adjusted, I've just got used to incorporating moving the supports manually in to the Morso dance
