As long as your driver is in good order any universal wedge should do the job.
Try LION they will be able to help. :music:

That's strange. I use Cassese Unis on my ancient Euro (not the butterfly version, but same mechanism as far as I know). It's had 26 years of welly and still the same hammer. I get the occaisional jam when there are only a few wedges left in the chute, but that's because the feed spring is gunged up with glue and It's a major pain to replace.

I find they work better than the original Euro ones. :?

There's these ...

http://www.lionpic.co.uk/product/TAURUS ... ,9101.aspx

But I use these in my Euro ...

Do a search here for 'Craig' or 'Craig Finn' he carries the real McCoy, but I find the above better (and cheaper!)

Robo,
you use the PTU wedges(on your phew-matic euro).I wonder if they work on the manual ones.
There must be someone else who has euro manual flutterby yoke still in action and can advise.
If not I may have to take a punt with the PTU wedges
Cheers

I had a Your-Oh butterfly before my newmarket one, in fact I still have it, buried in my garage somewhere, waiting for an emergency. I used these wedges with it too. Euro never made wedges specific to different machines.

I wish they took the 15mm ones though.

I never liked the real McCoy - they have a strip of blue tape over the top, don't know if that had anything to do with all the jams I got, but jams I did get! Now I think my machine is just 'bedded in' to the PTUs and if I tried a real McCoy it would be fatal!

Rite,
after further highly technical inspection, the hammer mechanism is coming thru but not taking a wedge with it,anyone any ideas?

Well, assuming you're using wedges that the machine likes, maybe the hammer is not dropping below the strip of wedges, which would be a return spring problem, or there is a wedge jammed at the front, which stays there after you have removed the strip of wedges, preventing them from moving forward.

Have you removed the chute/hammer assembly? It's only 4 allen bolts. Have you removed the front of the wedge block? It's just one allen bolt.

It's not the wedges. If they don't work, chances are no other brand will.

One thing that will cause the hammer to miss is the little guide that first wedge on the stick sits in. Take the little plate off near the end of the feed chute and run a knife blade in the grooves. A tiny build-up of gunge will keep the first wedge from sitting in it's correct launch position. You could also try jiggling the depth plate which you are supposed to alter to suit different wedge sizes. Mine has been permanently set at the lowest posiiton as long as I can remember.

What size wedges are you using. When I pruchased my Euro, it would fire the 7mm wedges, but not any larger. The action would still work with larger ones but no wedge would fire. The problem was solved but taking to bits and having a big clean up. I also need to give the wedges a quick wiggle after firing each one to ensure it is in the right place to fire up correctly. You actually hear a little click that tells you they are sitting correctly.

Have you checked the return spring as I think this is the problem that requires my little adjustment of wedges after each one? Mine is in 3 parts! (Anyone know where I can get a new spring for Euro 9000?)

Brian. If you haven't already tried it, strip it down and remove the hammer. Clean it up and give it a good polish with emery paper or steel wool. You can get a build up of gunk near the bottom end that makes it stick and not return to the correct position.

Problem solved,
the hammer wasnt dropping low enough on return, blocking the next wedge-
spring was fine, everything else was fine, all that was needed was a slight adjustment of the bracket below the whole hammer assembly.
