No snow here (Cambs/Lincs border). It tried yesterday but did not settle but it has been sub-zero all day.

I think we may just get away with it.

Saddleworth Moor - say no more...

A fresh couple of inches - after the last lot has just cleared - traffic moving like a summers day - but I'm staying put - with a hot cup of tea!!!

Alvechurch, 10 miles SW of Birmingham

It's been snowing here since about 6:00 this morning and we have about 8" / 20cm and -2.5 C, but it is the first real snow we've had this winter :o

I think I'll be giving early doors a miss  Usually cycle to the local pub, it's just under 3 miles, but not cycling weather or walking and definitely not driving.

North Surrey, we had 2 -3 inches in a short time this morning which killed the trade for the day, still got a shop loaded with jobs waiting for customers. I thought I was going to have a bumper day, haven't had this much to be collected in a long time as not much has gone through the week, just hope its gone by Friday so it should be a good week.

We've had snow and ice, which has made the roads very difficult in places. Being on the edge of Dartmoor, a lot of our surrounding area has become impossible for vehicles at certain times of day.

I'm told that there's a good many abandoned cars upon Dartmoor, due to parents and children with plastic sledges thinking that they can get through even though the authorities say stay at home. It's nothing new, we seems get it every time there a bit of snow on Dartmoor. Lemmings!

The impact of trade has not been helpful. Some of my best customers are waiting to collect their framing, but can't do so due to road and weather coniditions. We had the same problem last year!

There was about an inch of snow on the ground when I got up this morning and my car has about as much grip in the snow as an ice hockey puck, so I walked to work.

It rained heavily between times though, and that had turned to sleet by the time I set off, then it went really dark and we had a really heavy but brief snowfall ..... and then the sun came out and by midday it was slush. Shop was quiet until then but it panned out to be a really good day.

Just a few miles away over the South downs it's much worse. Last night was weird, after work we drove to Worthing on totally clear roads and a lot of the vehicles joining the A27 from the North were covered in snow.

It's all not happening here in East Yorkshire, snow that was forecast has failed to materialise, but it's -5 outside as we speak. Someone lent me a gizmo today, I think it's a hydrometer, that tests the strength of antifreeze in your vehicle. First job tomorrow is to test the tractors and the truck.
Actually I was hoping for snow....

We had a couple of inches overnight, then it continued all morning and into the afternoon, so a good 10" to 12" I'd say.

I drove to work this morning, the journey back was very slow, people were really struggling in places, with a fair few cars abandoned.

I live in the Peak District so usually get more than our fair share. But today no snow at all. Although it is minus 5 and we still have a few piles of snow on our drive that have been there for 2 weeks now

Well it's gone 2:30 here and just had a gleg art 'winder and it's not doing much at all. Not a soul to be seen except a couple of brass monkeys crying their eyes out and enquiring plaintively about the nearest a 24-hour emergency welding service.

Well we have been lucky here. The mountains around us have gotten 2 to 3 feet of snow. And we have gotten maybe an inch 2 weeks ago and nothing since. Most of the storms have missed us going norht or south of us, leaving us with snow capped mountain views.

Cheers
