How to mount a Wedding cake decoration?....

Hello all,

I've just been asked to box frame a Rose made of icing from a wedding cake,does anyone have an idea for mounting it?. I'd thought of using Velcro or similar,with a bit of glue. The decoration is about six inches across and rather heavy.

My other thoughts on this concern moisture,how can I seal it so twenty years down the line it's not just a puddle of sugar?
