I have a 'snug' workshop and cannot afford to have the mountcutter on my bench permanently and wondered how others store theirs.
I have thought about hanging it on the wall as there is a ridge underneath along the length of the bed but unsure of how to secure once 'rested' on a length of wood.
I don't want to hang it from the ends as this might cause it to go out of true. Would standing it on end cause any problem... lift up handle to the top of course.
Thanks in advance
Chris

Hello
This is a subject that is close to my heart! Maximising use of confined space...
Do you have a bench that you could create a sliding shelf under, bit like a drawer?

I'm lucky, I have the space and my Ultimat sat on a low purpose-made extension to my workbench so's it was flush with it.
The extension went to help create some space when I got my CMC, but I still have the Ultimat for training, for bevelling strips/ends of foam (etc) board and in case of power/air/software problems.
It stands on its end - the non-lifting lever end, on an offcut of deep pile carpet with the cutting head held at the top with a strong rubber band. It's a 60" version and it takes seconds to get it in place and cutting just as well as it ever did.

I designed both my work benches to have lift up tops, they are hinged along one. The "top" area of the one is used for glass cleaning and the top of the other for assembly. When you lift the top there is another area / shelf underneath where my Ulitimat is stored and used on the one and my Oval 6 is under the other. Under these shelves are storage space for mount and backing board etc.

i store mine as per robo above - been doing so for several years with no problem. store the measuring arm and the mat guide t bar carefully so as not to knock them accidentally .
when all is said and done - there is more said than done.

Thanks for sharing.
No room under the bench so will continue to stand on end and use a rubber band for keeping the head in place.
Was just worried as it looked like it was twisting slightly when standing it this way.

There is a wall mounting kit available. Never used it this way but might be worth investigating.

I've got a fair amount of floor space, but I'm really tight for wall space!Jonny2morsos wrote:There is a wall mounting kit available. Never used it this way but might be worth investigating.
