While I'm in the mood for asking questions.....


I am frequently finding, especially when framing cross stitch, that the chosen moulding has too shallow a rebate. For some time I have been using Rabbetspace to compensate but it is rather expensive and time consuming to fit. Of course, I should be spotting these problems when the customer chooses a moulding but put it down to lack of experience.

I guess I would like to know how other framers deal with this problem. I'm sure I've seen this discussed before but can't seem to find the thread, perhaps it was somewhere else.

I'm also interested in how other framers attach dust covers to the back of frames (I know some of you do). I've been using double sided tape but have seen references to this not being really suitable. Any recommendations for a suitable adhesive? I have tried using a pva glue but it's aqueous nature caused the (black kraft) paper to crease quite horribly.

I have used Rabbitspace for many years. It is a fine product. As an alternative for a heavy project, the old standby of wood buildups around the opening also work (with a beveled back edge and painted a dark color).
