Mounting a photograph on MDF

I've been asked a question by a keen photographer who has colour prints 26" x 20" which he has spray mounted on to 12mm MDF.
He finds it expensive using spray mount and not entirely satisfactory. Not possessing a dry mounting facility its a problem, any suggestions.
