Framing screen print

Hi team
I am reframing a signed / numbered screen print. It was framed like a poster hard onto the glass - and as a result has mildew marks etc.
The client wants it like it was - no matboards.

I was thinking to adhere it to Crescent perfect Mount adhesive mounting board, and then space it off the glass using frameSpacer.

My question is - what do you think about using the perfect mount board to provide some rigidity. Anything has to be better than the way it was framed.

Cheers

Campbell

Sorry Campbell,

I dont have any experience with the Crescent product you mention, but in situations like this, I always leave it up to the customer to decide, laying out for them the advantages and disadvantages of the various ways in which their item might be framed.

Perhaps 60% of the time, they go for the dry-mount/sticky board option.

I always try and explain how it should be framed - then if the customer decides not to take advice I do it exactly as they instruct - and I detail that on my customers invoice - they get a copy. If I was asked to dry mount I would explain the process and the implications. You then have an informed customer who will hopefully be very pleased with the resulting reframed work .

If a customer is asking me to do something I consider as un-professional, I explain why it's not a good idea. Then if they still want it like that, I tell them that I will do it for them, but I don't want to put my label on the back. It's suprising how much that makes them stop and reconsider.
Cheers,
