cleaning mackerel marks off float glass?

Have got a bad batch of glass,
anybody any ideas on the best way to remove paper stains damp stains mackerel pattern stains off glass?
NIlglass isnt cutting it.

As long as it's standard glass and not coated glass, Liberon 0000 grade steel wool.

I use the blue tissues from lion and use them virtually dry very little cleaner it usually comes of at the point at which the cleaner has gone. Also some glass is better than others, I had a whole crate of streaky glass serious PITA.

cheers lads,
good for future reference,but,got two rush jersey jobs for a draw tomorrow,already had one sealed and opened twice,thought marks were away and miraculously appeared again when frame was sealed.Worse than the flumb fairy- :head: :head:

have just tried some diluted bleach,seems to have done the trick

Lighter fluid and wirewool. :)
