Hi Everybody,

I decided to start a new post, to which I will attach the picture of the penny whistle, which may (or may not) be of use, for any further suggestions as mentioned in the original post.

Once again, to all those who have contibuted, many thanks. :D

It's a melinex-strap dream!

One, no more than 3mm wide, butted up to the right of the left hand 'box' - or the centre one - and another to the left of the right hand one. No need to thread anything through it as the boxes will prevent lateral movement.

With it being so 'busy' they'd be very difficult to see even close up and it also looks like it might be possible to pass straps through those boxes in some way, in which case they'd be even harder to see if not impossible to.

As John says, this is a framers dream come true as an ideal item for fixing with mylar straps.

Those box shaped section are a very helpful feature which will ensure the the whistle will memain flat against the surface of the mountboard and will also provide a positive feature against which the edge of two mylar straps may be located.

By locating the edges of the mylar straps in direct against the sides of these box shaped sections, this will not only provide a secure means of fixing and restriction of movement, but also the edge of the mylar strap which touches the side on the box section will almost certainly be almost total invisible when viewed through the normal glazing of the frame.

I can endorse John's suggestion of straps no more than 3mm wide as such straps will be more than adequate in this case and by restricting the width of these straps, there is far less chance of making the straps visually noticable.
