I am in the middle of framing two fans. No, not two people that are very keen on my personal attributes, but the traditional Chinese type, made to keep ladies cool. I am amazed that I haven't had to do one before but this is a first for me.

I was just after any tips on attaching the fan to the backing. I am thinking of using wire or fishing line, but the main problem is that the right hand end spokes of the fans are not very close to the backing. This means that any attachment may not be particularly discrete.

Any thoughts folks?

Make the main attachments where the fan/spokes rest on one side and bottom central then build some material up under the right hand side, if the fan is not transparent it can be something like Foam board; if it is then maybe acrylic or something like econospace and then make an attachment near that, doesn't have to be on the very outer spoke.

Thanks for the reply Roboframer - I mounted the fans before I got a reply and then left the straightforward bits to one of the other framers. I used wire in the end in three places. The difference in height between the two ends of the fan wasn't as much of a problem as it initially seemed. Had to get it done quickly as I was off on holiday the day after, which is why I haven't replied till now.
