Acrylic Canvas - L012

Hi,

I might have got myself in a bit of a corner saying I could frame an artwork in Lion's L012 - it's an acrylic painting which used to be on stretcher bars. It isn't now but unhelpfully has 2lip" marks all round the picture where it used to go on the bars.

The only way(s) that spring to mind on framing it successfully are:

1) Doing it like you would do a cross-stitch

2) Literally cutting a piece of MDF the size of the image and then taping the edges tight around at the back on the basis it's going to be nice and flat.

I was then going to cut a piece of foamboard that the artwork sits in before mounting it with no glass.

Has anyone else got any thoughts on my predicament?

Thanks,

Sean

Any reason why you can't put it back on stretchers? :)

..I thought about stretchers but they wouldn't be narrow enough and I'd have to back out the moulding etc, etc, etc.

Can't really see the problem. The moulding is quite generous width and a generous rebate.

That moulding has a 27mm rebate so plenty of room for standard 18mm bars or the premium 24mm bars.... defo re-stretch.
