I have got 2 football shirts to frame. The customer also wants a photo put in the frame - to go under the sponsors name (tummy area).

I have done several shirts and am ok doing that side of it. I am asking for ideas on how to attach the photo....

I was thinking I wanted to raise the photo above the shirt (maybe in its own frame) - like float mounting it with 5 or 10mm foam core between shirt and photo, but would like some ideas on how to fix the photo bit to the main shirt/frame.
- Yes, I know Robo would suggest Melinex! Other ideas most welcome.

(I didn't want to have the photo in a window mount as you sometimes see.)

We did something similar with some MUSE memorabilia recently - only we had to float 2 back stage passes over the top of the shirt being framed. The way we did it was to use conservation foamboard which was cut slightly smaller than the passes and this was then sewn through the shirt, its foamboard inner and the mountboard backing so that it was held securely (could also be done with a tag gun). The passes were then secured to the foamboard using very small dots of evacon-r. All you then have to do is ensure that the glass is spaced far enough away that it doesn't touch any of it.

Another one was a football programme covering the bottom corner of the shirt. This one was done with melinex because we had direct access to the backing mountboard around the shirt and we used information from a very useful post from Robo to guide us on how to do it.

Thanks very much for the reply. I've not used evacon r before - just looked it up on google and will get a bottle. Yes I was thinking of using a smaller piece to attach to the shirt, just had a mental block of how it would all attach together! I can see how it would go together now. Thank you for your help.
