A customer brought this one in to us today to try and match it for her. Does anyone recognise it, it is 30mm wide.
I'm looking through the catalogues myself at the moment but anyone who recognises it and can let me know it would be helpful.

looks like GAL/8 from Simons, Arqadia used to do one almost identical but from a quick look in the catalogue it looks like they have discontinued it - Mainline also did a version 5006034 but don't know if it is exactly the same

Arqadia 474 348 000 looks similar. There are quite a few variations in this style.

Ashworth and Thompson do that moulding - page 38 of catelogue, code number 84915.

Thank you everyone who has posted suggestions both here and on skype. I think the closest found is the POL-4643 from Mainline Mouldings. I'll see what they say when they come back.

I would also say it is GAL/0008 from Simons. The Arqadia version was not such a distressed finish.

Thanks J2M, the Simons version has, or appears to have, a rippled rather than flat inside edge. It is similar but I think the PolCor is a better match. Thanks for taking the time to look at this, it's much appreciated everyone.

The Outcome .........

Customer comes in, I explain all the alternatives. She shows me the docket from 5 years ago with the frame priced at £29.50 from a framer about 20 minutes drive from here. Told her it would be £34.00 if I ordered in the moulding "especially for her".

You know what's coming don't you? "Too expensive", she's going to drive her car for 20 minutes to see if the other framer can do it for less. If not then "I'll be back".

Don't you just love customers?

Doesn't she not think that the framer 20minutes drive away will have put up his prices and that he may actually be charging £40 now

Assuming the framer 20 mins down the road has put his prices up 3% per annum since the last job 5yrs ago she will be paying £34.20.

Also assuming she drives 20 mins at an average of 30mph then it is a 20 mile round trip and at around £6.30 per gallon of fuel then thats another 3 quid or so.

Only one thig to say

If she comes back and say's the other framer is more expensive, tell her you will match his price
The moulding company has put it's prices up, so it will be more expensive than when you had first costed the job and she went away, not the type of customer you want anyway.

Had another one in today. A different plastic/polcore type frame from the same framer. Wanted us to match it. I suggested she go back to the original framer unless she wanted our wooden alternatives. I like to think she liked my honest, helpful attitude. The grunt and slammed door seemed to give that impression.

If its only 30mm wide like it says i'd say it was GAL/0006 as GAL/0008 is wider
