Large Acrylic Panel - Suppliers?

Post by Tudor Rose »

We have had an enquiry to frame a large panoramic print of a local harbour for the Harbourmaster's office. The print size is 2600mm x 730mm and they want it in an acrylic panel sandwich, like the ones that Lions etc do, which can then be screwed to the wall. Does anyone know of any supplier who does them this sort of size?

Hoping someone can help!

Thanks

Any acrylic supplier should do this.... preferably local as I wouldn't want to put that through the post. Look in the yellow pages. You are going to need posts at every 600 too so try http://www.ispitrade.com/

Lucky they want a sandwich as at that size it would be a PITA to do. Recently did one 1730 x 400... print bonded to the rear through the Jetmounter...:sweating: turned out good in the end though.

online if you get stuck....

Defo don't offer to hang it either.... thats a monster and going to be heavy. Not sure you'll get away with 5mm panels either so may have to go to 6mm or 8mm so take advice from suppliers.

That's brilliant - thanks guys. Will try various places to get a price, might put them off the idea but at least it will show we are doing something.

yes don't offer to hang it you won't be insured to do that, hanging pictures in someones house or worse still a public place requires a whole heap of public liability insurance which you normal public liability won't cover.

No worries, wasn't going to offer - not enough time and too much hassle, but thanks for the warning.
