How do you stand a frame with no backing?

I've been asked to make a frame with glass front and back so that you can see right through. No problem, except the customer wants the frame to stand on a table rather than hang. All of the stands/struts that I can find in the Lion catalogue are fixed to the backing board, of which there isn't one!

Anyone got any good ideas?

Thanks David, but I think it will need to be presented like it would with a strutback.

lay back sky hooks :giggle: :giggle:

Failing that what about a perspex stand like they use in book shops to display books.

Use either the Lion Scroll Stand, or Square Wire Stand, but with the fixed bracket screwed to the back of the frame, rather than the slip-on bracket you mentioned.

What John said. :D

You can always put two on for extra stability.

Easy! What size of frame are we talking about and what style of moulding?

I like customers like this, as long as they are prepared to pay the extra, for something as special as this! :D

A4 in size and in Arqadia's small black confetti (140167000)

I did one just like this yesterday!

I should have taken some piccies but I didn't. I used black curl up n stands from Wessex screwed into the bottom corners in black to match the moulding.

I thought it looked better than perhaps it should!

Just an idea though.

You get two of these and paint them to match the colour of your frame. Drill two holes into the side rails of the frame at an appropiate distance from bottom of the frame, so that it will stand at the required angle and screw the pins into the holes.

Guaranteed to look classy, don't forget to charge a good amount. Not many people know how to do classy looking jobs like this.

Problem solved!

Standing it up is easy enough, but how are you going to keep the two pieces of glass together so that the fixing is not visible from the front? Not easy if you don't have the artwork.

Not easy to screw into confetti without chipping, especially when screwed up tight. The brass feet idea looks classiest, but are hellish expensive.
