Stretchers

Hi all, I’ve just started printing my own canvases with no real problems .
Folding corners seems to be an acquired technique, but the few that I’ve done so far I’m pleased with.
There seems to be an alternative way of stretching, at least for my own work, perhaps not for private customer’s canvases, as it involves cutting.
The results for the alternative seem extremely neat (main advantage), perhaps costly if Easywrappe supply the bars.
There was also a company at the Fine Art Trade Guild event last Sunday who were demonstrating the same idea, but without the use of the plastic corner locators.
It seemed to me the with the aid of my router or bench saw it would be easy to machine an additional rebate into the inner side of any stretcher bar, the MDF or ply corner braces are would not present a problem either.
So are there any pitfalls that I’m over looking?
Perhaps folded corners allow for re-tensioning of canvases better at a later date!
