I have been given a badly bowing painting (outwards) to frame and am considering pasting it onto a piece of 3mm piece of hardboard to try and flatten it using what they call over here poster glue.It is a general pasting down glue. The painting is done on a piece of accrylic primed artist canvas board.......am I going the right way ????????

I'd be happier using PVA and on to something a bit more stable than 3mm hardboard, such as 6mm ply. Squeezing in a cold press would speed the process up considerably as well. Use some foam if there's any texture to the paint, and of course, no heat!

Thanks Pete......I have some 6mm MDF but will have to do a box then and the PVA is 3 hours drive from here. That's the down side of living in a little village 3 hours from Cape Town where people has never seen D rings or framing points.
