Don't know why I never thought of doing this, it saves so much time and looks the bizness too.

They asked "would it be possible to improve on this?" Had to tell them we would do what we could but the glue meant it was staying stuck to the wooden backing board. This time they have agreed to have a mount on the front of it to keep it distanced from the glass.

This has been brought in by a customer who we have previously done tapestries for and she has obviously been hiding this one at the back of a dark cupboard. She's not going back to the other place, surprisingly enough.

I'll post a before and after once it's finished.

Finally I can post the result of before and after. The job became "fraught" because when I cut the moulding I ended up with without enough to finish one short side. Luckily Steve N came to our rescue, for which we are very grateful and we were able to finish the frame. The customer has now picked it up along with another tapestry left in by her friend (on her recommendation) and she is absolutely delighted. Apparently it will now be travelling to it's new home in Blackpool!

Sorry about the handywrap, I almost forgot to take it's photo. The moulding is Simon's REIM/0003 and the mountboard is Arqadia Vellum. The glass size is 1110 x 550mm.

Glad that one's finished :-)
