Just In Today albino mole 10"x 4"x 4"
Customer wants it Framed or display cased, just looking for idea's really.
i've looked on Ebay for some model display cases but they look cheap & nasty
some of the glass ones are nice but a tad expensive,
so perhaps a box frame may be the order of the day.

Don't know if these people are of any use, I havent used them myself.

I did some items similar to this for one of the universitys, they specified box frames so I made them with mirror in the back so you could see the other side, made them look twice as deep too.

This is the sort of thing that would be simple to knock up with a modicum of woodworking kit. A router table would be handy.

I have a stuffed owl in a case. It's just a plinth with four wooden pillars. Each pillar has two grooves in adjacent sides to receive the glass. Also grooves in the plinth. Topped off with a lid, also with grooves, which is screwed into the pillars.. All very simple if you can make the grooves.

these were hats made by design students, one had a giant butterfly on it among other dead things, the other was made with some kind of animal horns, very gothic looking, I used a large ornate black molding and lined the box with black mount card, all the bits you would not normally see had to be painted black because of the mirror, the final effect was stunning. I have pics of models wearing the hats and other stuff we framed,
the job was a real rush so didn't get chance to get pics of the frames, or go to the exhibit, a shame really.
Not had a chance to do it again yet.
