Help! I have been asked to make some deep rebate box frames. The dimensions are 33x24", and 4" deep, about 1.25" flat profile. Any ideas for techniques to do this? I have framing equipment but not electric saws etc

Welcome to the forum, Richard.

You can make a box from flat battens or from flat moulding profiles and it's probably best to make two boxes and fix them together if you're using an underpinner.

These are fixed together with pocket hole screws and I've used a frame moulding mitred on its side which gives a rebate for the backing board to sit in and another at the front for the front (capping) frame to sit in.

A screw inserted in a hole made with a pocket hole jig like the one in the photo - there's plenty of youtube tutorials.

That's a pretty neat idea - I just might 'borrow' that at some point. Cheers

Ignore that! Just read the other post - Simons LES 0001?

Cheers - nice work btw
