Are the Hotpress days still being run at Framers Equipment or Hotpress Bristol? The only reason I ask is that with Steve Goodall moving over to Wessex...

A "BIG" Kashmir Rug
Seems to be the time of year for big frames! Any advice really appreciated on this one. Customer has a Kashmir rug with tassels which they want framed without glazing (we discussed about it collecting dust etc.), thankfully. The moulding chosen is Nielsons Leonardo W946534, ~£11.45/m +VAT The rug is...

Re: Cibachrome prints
I had a similar issue sometime ago and Steve Goodall gave me the following advice:- "I have experience of cibachromes & can offer the following advice... Hinging to the mount is a complete waste of time - all that will achieve is to stop it slipping to the bottom of the frame. Hot mounting ...

Re: Best deal for conservation mountboards
Someone on ebay is selling pallet loads of Arqadia mountboard, everything from 200 sheets to 50 in various colours, I think it works out between £1 and £1.5 / sheet.
Their location is Milton Keynes so I wondered if it was actually Arqudia.

Re: Cutting Mountboard with wheel cutter on Fletcher Wall Cu
Same here, I'd never considered using the roller cutter for mountboard but like Allframed I found it cuts beautifully. One thing I don't like with the blade is that it doesn't seem to have sufficient support, you can see the blade flex especially after a few cuts. So you don't always get a perfect s...
Re: Handywrap
I wouldn't say handy wrap was a replacement for bubble wrap, I only use handy wrap to hold the bubble wrap in place.
As said before you really want the handle that the handy wrap roll fits onto, it easy then

Re: Frames through the post
I recently used DHL to ship 15 framed photo's (46cm x 58cm) from Birmingham to Glasgow, all with Artglass AR glass. They picked up on the Thursday afternoon and they were delivered by 14:00 on the Friday and all for £25.

Cutting Wessex PW130
DOH, should have checked the size before showing the customer :head: Wessex PW130 plain wood moulding is 95mm wide back to front so about 10mm to wide for my Morso to cut :Slap: Frame needs to be 55cm x 56cm, can anyone reasonably local to Alvechurch, Junction 2 M42, SW Birmingham cut this on a twin...

Re: Transporting framed artwork
Today I sent 15 framed (with Artglass AR glass) photo's from Alvechurch to Glasgow for the Alex Harvey exhibition at the People's Palace on the 4th Feb. They were all wrapped individually in bubble wrap and then packed into a double cardboard box (48cm x 48cm x68 and 25kg), the box cost £5.99 :shock...

Re: Receiving moulding with marks... what is acceptable?
Coming from the automotive industry where supplier quality is paramount and a lot of effort and thought is put into packaging I'm also staggered at the way most moulding companies pack but what really annoys me is that certain companies repeatedly blame the delivery company when it is quite obviousl...
