Brevetti Mitre Saw Dust Extraction

Hi all,

Hoping for some advice from anyone using a Brevetti mitre saw. Has anyone managed decent dust (and offcut) collection on these? Do you just stick a box inside, or is there a better solution?

We’ve got a Prismatic E, and I used the manual Prisma a decade ago which was the same.

I’ve tried hooking it up to a dual motor Record Power CamVac. It stops dust escaping, but most of it just settles in the bottom of the saw rather than making it to the extractor. The saw body is basically a big empty box, so maybe it's not possible without a enormously powerful extractor?

Bit frustrating having to keep opening it up to clear out offcuts and piles of dust.

Cheers!

Louis

I'm afraid the Canvac isn't going to do it for you.
What you need is a decent dust/chip extractor.
Something like one of these -

Go on Facebook marketplace and you should be able to find one for £100 or less.

When you do get one, stick it in the loo or somewhere self contained. That way the residual dust won't bother you.

Thanks, I was afraid that was going to be the answer. We do have a spare one, but I was hoping to avoid using it for this. Ho hum.

Thank you though.

One one I showed was for illustration only.
Look for one with at least a 1hp motor, that way everything gets sucked out.
