Re: The recent M. L. C Event

Londoners don't travel north of Watford as it's in the sticks. Thats why Wembley Stadium was built in the most inaccessible place for everyone ............ except Londoners. But STCSTC has the answer. Its transport links and somewhere close to Rail/Air and good roads is the best policy. Hence FF liv...

Re: Stretchin a long thin canvas

One other point ---- you will need to brace that length at least once. I would normally brace twice on that length/width combination

Re: MOMENT OF PANIC!

Don't leave us Robo...........the forum would be a much lesser place without your postings. The tip you gave me on drymounting the second mount under the ater damaged upper mount was a gem. It really worked well. Customer hasn't seen it yet as he is still "abroad" Not sure if that's "...

Re: MOMENT OF PANIC!

For my mind it is one to spot weld two pieces of allthread on the upper and lower portions and then bolt through onto a 3mm thick MDF backboard. Well professional 8)

Re: Suedette Board

The reason we couldn't cut from the back was the spring in the board. We have a vacuum bed and it was springing up - even with masking tape to hold it down. Hence top cut.

Thanks Steve N, a very useful thread.

Suedette Board

I have ust had a job in that needs a suedette mount with a bevel aperture. Cutting it is fine on my CMC but it leaves tramlines from the cutter roller around the cut-out. As I can't cut the bevel from the back, is there any way that the tramlines can be removed? Any help gratefully recieved

Re: Dry Mounting Photo's

So just to recap, excluding the issue of conservation, Dibond or equivalent will stop the orange peel effect???

I had assumed that this was the structure of the board that caused this and recently purchased some white liner board from Lion but this was no better than ordinary mountboard.

Minigraf 4 Underpinner

I am selling our Minigraf 4 underpinner which was built in 1996 and has serial number 24554. It has had two owners and we do know the previous owner. It is in excellent condition, and has 4 wedge magazines (5,7,10 and 15mm) plus two moulding clamps. One circular and the other a 90 degree angle plate...

Re: Starting out..... help needed!

I agree with bits of most posts but not all of any of them. Firstly, if you are running a gallet=ry then I expect you are selling high quality frames to go with the artwork. Despite what prospero says, its not every bugger that can knock a frame together otherwise there would be no picture framers a...

Re: Road Rage

I am not good with road rage. I am always getting into it I'm afraid. The situation you describe happens to me on fairly frequent occasions because I live on a busy road in a village with a "gateway" which we call a chicane. The chicane is about 100 feet from my house to the left and so I ...

Re: End of cheque guarantee cards - Do I need a card termina

Too true Steve. I use Streamline as well and they have been very good with excellent rates - well no worse than anyone elses anyway. I also got an even better deal when I decided on e commerce with them I dont like cheques now as I have to go to the bank so I tend to leave it weeks which is not good...

Re: End of cheque guarantee cards - Do I need a card termina

There is no option but to use cards or insist on cash only from 2015 when cheques will be phased out, but you can accept cheques until then but no guarantee. We made the decision to go card just over 12 months ago and we think it has increased turnover. Certainly 70% of payment is now by card and no...
